Not much good has come out of the junk that we dump into the ocean, except for this:
Mandy Barker has made a photo collection of the plastic debris found in the sea and beaches around the world. The collection is called "SOUP" referring to the mass accumulation in The North Pacific Ocean, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (see my blog post: Island In The Stream). With this collections she aims to: "Engage with, and stimulate an emotional response in the viewer by combining a contradiction between initial aesthetic attraction and social awareness". I think it is a beautiful -and shocking- collection. Check out her website, her other collection: "Every snow flake is different" is also really cool.
