My friends in Holland just can't stop boasting about their brilliant snow for sledding and magnificent quality of ice for skating. With a blue sky they even have the perfect conditions to drink hot chocolate (with rum) in the sun! Here in the UK we had some snow as well today. A very disappointing 2 cm. Enough to cause huge issues to road and rail but hardly enough to sleigh.
I spent the whole afternoon pushing my kids down the green slopes in the park, and realised this will be the future for everyone if the global warming continues at the current speed. So while the kids were warming up in a hot bath after hours of sliding down the frozen mud, I found a solution on internet: the Global Warming Sled. It will never be as much fun as a proper snow-one, and we will miss the "sandy parts" which sound makes your hair raise going over it. But it will be so much easier for the parents to pull through the mud!
